Crash Alert: Driver fatally collided with bicyclist near Benson Park
OMAHA, NE – According to WOWT, a driver struck and killed a bicyclist at 72nd St and Pratt St on Saturday.
John Turpen, 45, was riding a homemade motorized bicycle west on Pratt St when he ran a stop sign and was hit by a person driving a 2017 Ford F-150 pickup truck heading north on 72nd St around 6 p.m. Turpen was not wearing a helmet.
Rescue crews transported Turpen to an area hospital, where he died from serious head injuries.
The Omaha Police Department is investigating the incident.
