Crash Alert: Driver pleads guilty to manslaughter for deadly crash near Witherbee
LINCOLN, NE – According to KOLN, a man entered a plea deal for a crash near N 52nd St and O St that claimed the lives of two women and injured 20 people on Memorial Weekend in 2022.
Kyvell Stark, 20, was driving around 90 mph when he collided with another vehicle. The impact sent both cars crashing into a crowd gathered for Memorial Weekend celebrations.
The crash killed Emily Siebenhor, 20, and Edith Hermosillo, 22. Twenty other people were injured in the incident.
Stark initially pleaded not guilty to two counts of manslaughter and two counts of DUI with serious bodily injuries. His trial was going to be held this fall.
Stark has now pleaded guilty to one count of DUI to cause serious bodily injury and one count of manslaughter. He could face a jail sentence of over 20 years. He will be sentenced on Nov. 16.
