2 dead after driver collides with tree on N River Dr in Douglas County
DOUGLAS COUNTY, NE – According to KMTV, two people died and two were injured following a single-vehicle crash on N River Dr near the Washington County Line on Sunday.
The driver of a Kia sedan was heading north on N River Rd when they strayed off the road and collided with a tree around 8:52 a.m. The crash caused the vehicle to catch on fire.
Firefighters put out the fire and found four occupants inside the vehicle.
Rescue crews pronounced one person dead at the scene, and one person died on the way to the hospital. They transported the other two people to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Officials have not released the victims’ names.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
