News: Hit-and-run driver sentenced to prison for fatal crash near Hanscom Park
OMAHA, NE – According to WOWT, the hit-and-run driver who allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian near S 23rd St and Castelar St on Feb. 16 was sentenced to prison on Monday.
Miguelangel Bringshimback allegedly fled the scene after colliding with Milagros Lopez, 23. Rescue crews transported Lopez to an area hospital, where she died.
Authorities arrested Miguelangel Bringshimback in March and charged him with manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid.
Bringshimback pleaded “no contest” to leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and motor vehicle homicide as part of a plea deal in September.
Officials sentenced Bringshimback to seven years in prison. Four of those years were for leaving the scene of an accident and three were for motor vehicle homicide. Bringshimback will also serve 18 months of supervised release once he completes his prison term.
