Crash Alert: Man pleads no contest for Plattsmouth wreck
PLATTSMOUTH, NE – According to WOWT, a driver pleaded no contest to a crash that injured himself and another driver at US 75 and NE 66 on Sept. 9, 2023.
Carlos Olivas, 25, was driving a red Infinity Q50 south on US 75 when he slammed into the rear of a white Dodge Durango, driven by Huston Korenoski, 24, stopped at a red light. The collision caused the Durango to become wedged against a semi-truck driven by Brandon Dobbs, 30.
Rescue crews transported Olivas and Korenoski to an area hospital. Dobbs was not hurt in the incident.
Authorities initially charged Olivas with driving under the influence of alcohol causing serious bodily injury, which is 3A felony.
Olivas pleaded no contest to DUI-first offense, which is a misdemeanor, and to third-degree assault.
A judge will sentence Olivas on Mar. 11.
