MEAD, NE – A woman charged with a fatal crash that happened at County Road 10 and County Rd L on Nov. 22, 2023, turned herself in to authorities on Jan. 29, according to WOWT.
Madisyn Haack, 23, was driving a 2010 Ford F250 north on County Rd 10 when she strayed off the road and overcorrected before rolling over into the ditch upside down around 6:06 a.m.
Rescue crews pronounced Haack’s passenger, Bryce Budz, 23, dead at the scene and transported Haack to an area hospital in critical condition.
Authorities believe speed and impairment were factors in the incident. They charged Haack with felony DUI motor-vehicle homicide and felony manslaughter, DUI above .15, and willful reckless driving.
Haack posted bond and waived her preliminary hearing. Her next court date is on Feb. 12.
