Crash Alert: Man on scooter seriously hurt in west Omaha crash involving SUV
OMAHA, NE – A man was hospitalized with serious injuries Thursday afternoon, May 30, after colliding with a sports utility vehicle while riding a Vespa scooter in west Omaha, reports 6 News WOWT.
The incident was reported on West Dodge Road (U.S. Route 6) near 132nd Street. 6 News reported said they were first alerted shortly before 3:00 p.m.
An early investigation shows that the man was operating the Vespa when it hit the front end of a Nissan SUV as he was attempting to merge onto the highway.
First responders rushed the rider to Bergan Mercy Hospital where he was listed in serious condition.
Officials did not immediately say which party was at fault in the collision.
