Crash Alert: Driver runs stop sign, fatally collides with another vehicle near Uehling
UEHLING, NE – According to WOWT, one person is dead after a driver ran a stop sign and hit another vehicle on US 77, two miles south of Uehling, on Saturday.
Julia Johnson, 60, was driving a Dodge Durango west when she ran the stop sign at US 77 and hit a southbound Jeep Compass around 7:30 p.m.
The collision sent both vehicles into a ditch.
Paramedics transported the drivers and passengers of both vehicles to area hospitals, where a 72-year-old woman from the Jeep died.
Authorities cited Johnson for running the stop sign and careless driving.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. They do not believe speed or impairment were factors in the collision.
