Crash Alert: Deputies respond to fatal crash on NE 14 in Merrick County

MERRICK COUNTY, NE – The Merrick County Sheriff’s Office responded to a deadly two-vehicle collision at NE 14 and U Rd on Wednesday morning, according to WOWT.

Ryan Peery, 46, was driving an SUV north on NE 14 when he strayed into oncoming traffic and hit a southbound pickup truck around 10:30 a.m.

First responders pronounced Peery dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt. Crews transported the pickup truck driver to an area hospital with serious injuries. They were wearing a seatbelt.
