Crash Alert: Authorities arrest hit-and-run driver for crash near Midtown
OMAHA, NE – According to WOWT, authorities have arrested a man for allegedly fleeing the scene following an auto vs. pedestrian crash at N 40th St and Cuming St on Monday.
Jerry Herrea, 27, was reportedly driving a dark green 2000 or 2001 Eddie Bauer Edition Ford Expedition west when he hit the victim around 3:30 p.m.
First responders transported the victim to an area hospital in critical condition.
Herrea allegedly fled the scene after hitting the victim.
Authorities located Herrera and charged him with Failure to Stop and Render Aid resulting in a Serious Injury. His bond is $75,000, and his preliminary hearing is on Jan. 10, 2025.
