Crash Alert: Man in jail for deadly Papillion crash
PAPILLION, NE – A driver is in jail for a fatal crash near Richland Dr and Glenn St on Oct. 11, according to WOWT.
Wade Harvey, 37, was allegedly driving a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck south on Richland Dr when slammed into a tree around 1:10 a.m.
First responders pronounced Harvey’s passenger, Juan Guillen, 26, dead at the scene and transported Harvey to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities believe impairment and speed were factors in the crash. Harvey allegedly did not comply with a search warrant on the night of the crash, making it harder for authorities to find out if he had been drinking. Other search warrants eventually led deputies to determine alcohol played a role in the wreck.
The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
