Crash Alert: Man pleads no contest for fatal crash near Spring Lake
OMAHA, NE – According to WOWT, a man pleaded no contest to charges connected to a deadly wreck on I-80 WB near 24th St on Apr. 13.
Maison King, 26, was driving a 2021 Kia Sportage east in the westbound lanes of I-80 when he slammed head-on into a 2017 Ford Fusion.
The Ford Fusion’s driver, Kyle Arnold, 30, and a passenger, Ross Lewis, 26, were killed in the crash. First responders transported another passenger from the Fusion to an area hospital in critical condition.
King was the only occupant of the Kia. He was transported to the hospital. A Blood test showed he had a BAC of .175, which is over twice the legal limit.
His bond was set at $50,000 after his court appearance.
Authorities charged King with two counts of motor vehicle homicide and one count of DUI causing serious bodily injury. He was arrested in April.
King appeared in court and pleaded “no contest” to his charges. He will be sentenced on Jan. 8, 2025. He could face up to 20 years on each motor vehicle homicide charge and up to three years for the DUI causing serious bodily injury charge.
