Crash Alert: 2 dead after semi crashes into pickup truck near Aurora
AURORA, NE – Two people are dead after a semi-truck driver slammed into a pickup truck near State Highway 14 and W 16 Road on Monday, according to WOWT.
A 34-year-old man was driving a semi-truck south on NE 14 when he crossed the center line, causing the semi to collide with a northbound pickup truck operated by Nathan Omel, 42, at around 3 p.m.
First responders pronounced Omel and one passenger, 66-year-old Cynthia Omel, dead at the scene. Both decedents were from Grand Island.
One other passenger from the pickup truck, 95, was rushed to an area hospital where he was listed in fair condition.
The semi-truck driver was not hurt in the collision.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
