Crash alert: Car accident leaves 1 person critically injured, shuts down stretch of I-80
OMAHA, NE – Rescue crews were at the scene of an accident in Omaha on Monday afternoon that left a person critically injured and shut down a stretch of Interstate 80, according to KETV.
Investigators said a driver was heading east on I-80 near 72nd Street at about 4 p.m. when the vehicle collided with a median.
One person, a male, was reported to have been pinned and was extricated from the vehicle by first responders.
The injured victim was taken to Nebraska Medicine, where he was listed in critical condition.
The accident shut down two eastbound lanes of I-80 for about an hour.
