Crash Alert: 2 killed, multiple injured in major accident in Bellevue
BELLEVUE, NE – According to KETV News, two people were killed and several others were injured in a major crash involving three vehicles in Bellevue on Friday.
Authorities say the collision took place shortly after 8:00 p.m. near the intersection of Fort Crook Road and Cornhusker Road. 33-year-old Maria Diaz Castelan, was driving south on Fort Crook Road when she reportedly drove through a red light at the Corn Husker Road intersection and crashed into two vehicles. Two drivers of separate eastbound vehicles, 23-year-old Kirsten Fritz and 38-year-old Sally Harrington, were struck by Castelan in the crash.
Castelan sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to Nebraska Medicine for treatment. A passenger in her vehicle, 30-year-old Victor Munoz Garcia, was killed in the impact and pronounced dead at the scene. Fritz was taken to Nebraska Medicine, but later died from her injuries at the hospital. Harrington and two passengers in her vehicle sustained injuries in the collision and were also transported to Nebraska Medicine for treatment.
