Crash Alert: Driver hurt after colliding with train near Cooper Park
LINCOLN, NE – According to KOLN, a driver was hurt after she slid on ice and hit a train at 5th St and D St on Monday.
A woman driving a Volkswagen Beetle attempted to stop when she saw a train approaching but slid on ice and slammed into the edge of the caboose around 9:30 a.m. The train dragged the Betel down the train tracks before stopping.
Rescue crews transported the driver to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The warning lights and crossing arms were not activated at the intersection.
