Crash Alert: Driver fatally collides with tree on US 50 in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, NE – A driver died after he slammed into a tree on NE 50 near Riha Road Tuesday, according to WOWT.

Joshua Devers, 36, was driving on US 50 when he left the road and plowed into a tree Tuesday morning.

Witnesses to the crash extricated Devers and performed life-saving measures on him. First responders arrived and transported him to an area hospital, where he died.

The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office’s Crash Response Unit is investigating the incident. They believe impairment may have been a factor.
