Crash alert: 2 injured in Merrick Co. collision
MERRICK COUNTY, NE – Two people were injured Friday night when the driver of a Ford Focus fell asleep at the wheel and drifted into oncoming traffic.
NTV ABC reports that the Focus was headed west on Highway 30 when it crossed the center lane and collided with an eastbound Dodge Rampage that was waiting to turn left onto 10th Road. An eastbound Dodge Ram pickup truck was unable to slow in time to avoid the wreck, and rear-ended the Rampage.
Emergency responders transported the drivers of the Focus and the Rampage to Merrick Medical Center, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The Ram’s driver was unhurt.
