Crash alert: Multi-vehicle collision in Papillion leaves 1 dead, 2 injured
PAPILLION, NE – A driver was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Sarpy County on Thursday afternoon, reports the Omaha World-Herald.
The incident happened in the city of Papillion, in the area of Nebraska Highway 50 and Capehart Road. Papillion police investigators determined that a pickup truck was going north on Highway 50 at about 2:40 p.m. when it crossed over the center line and slammed into two southbound vehicles. The pickup driver had been spotted driving erratically prior to the collision, police said.
The driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene of the crash. Another driver was hospitalized with critical injuries at the Nebraska Medical Center. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
Police said debris from the incident damaged another vehicle, but no one else was hurt.
