Crash alert: Douglas County officials identify both drivers killed in head-on crash
DOUGLAS COUNTY, NE – Authorities released additional information regarding a crash in Douglas County on Saturday that killed two people, according to the Associated Press and WOWT.
This is an update to a previous story.
Both victims have now been identified by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. They were 19-year-old Landen Montanio and 58-year-old Charles Miller, both of Yutan.
The accident happened in the area of 280th and West Center Road, where investigators say Miller was driving a van east and tried to pass another vehicle. He crashed head-on into a westbound pickup truck driven by Montanio, causing one of the vehicles to go up in flames.
Along with the two fatalities, two passengers in the pickup truck were injured and hospitalized.
