Crash alert: Man dies after being pinned between 2 semis in Wauneta
WAUNETA, NE – The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating an accident that killed a truck driver in Chase County on Sunday, according to WOWT and the Associated Press.
The NSP said 54-year-old Brian Stute had parked his semi at a grain trailer in the area of Kiowa Street and North Arapahoe Avenue in Wauneta to unload grain.
As he was at the rear of the trailer, another driver parked their semi behind Stute’s vehicle. When the other driver got out of her semi to talk to Stute, investigators say her truck rolled down a slope and pinned him between the two vehicles.
Stute, a Benkelman resident, was pronounced dead after being rushed to an area hospital. Authorities said the semi that hit him will be inspected to determine whether there was a mechanical failure.
