Sheriff’s deputies and rescue crews responded to the scene near County Road U and County Road 36 after the incident was reported Wednesday morning shortly before 4:30 a.m. Investigators said 32-year-old Estevan A. Teniente lost control of a vehicle while heading west on County Road U. The vehicle entered a ditch, went sideways and rolled.
Teniente, a Minatare resident, was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, 27-year-old Garret Le Maitre, was hospitalized with minor injuries at Regional West Medical Center.
