Crash alert: 93-year-old pickup driver dies in collision with semi near Fremont
FREMONT, NE – A collision between a pickup truck and a semi-trailer truck near Fremont Wednesday afternoon killed an elderly driver, the Fremont Tribune reports.
The Nebraska State Patrol said the pickup was heading west on Cathy Street as the semi was going north on U.S. Highway 77. The two vehicles collided at the intersection shortly after 4 p.m.
The pickup driver, 93-year-old Harold Mueksch of Fremont, was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured in the wreck.
The NSP is investigating the cause of the accident, which affected traffic in the area for over two and a half hours.
