Crash alert: Motorcyclist killed in crash involving semi in Saline County
CRETE, NE – A man was killed when his motorcycle was involved in a crash with a tractor-trailer in Saline County last week, News Channel Nebraska reports.
Police and emergency crews responded to the scene on Highway 33 near County Road 1900, west of Crete at about 4:20 p.m. Thursday. Investigators determined that 24-year-old Juan Lopez-Adame was riding a motorcycle west on Highway 33 when an eastbound semi turned in front of him from Highway 33 onto County Road 1900. Lopez-Adame lost control of the motorcycle and was thrown from his bike.
Lopez-Adame, a Crete resident, was pronounced dead after being transported by medical helicopter to Bryan West Campus in Lincoln. The Saline County Sheriff’s Office said he was wearing a helmet at the time.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the incident.
