Crash alert: 19-year-old man fatally struck by pickup near Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, NE – Authorities said a pedestrian was killed when he was hit by a vehicle in Sarpy County early Sunday morning.
According to the Omaha World-Herald, the crash occurred in the area of 132nd Street and Main Street near Springfield at about 12:46 a.m.
The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office said three men, ages 18, 18 and 19, were in a Ford pickup truck when the 19-year-old got out of the vehicle on Main Street. He was then struck by the pickup and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
